Practice starts with attention.
Before the next pass, shot, or defensive step, there is a moment to listen. Players gather near the basket while the coach sets the direction. Those pauses are part of development too: learning to focus, understand the goal, and prepare to put instruction into motion.
Part of the pack
Belonging grows between the drills.
The lesson is bigger than any single skill. Wearing the same mark, sharing the same court, and spending time with teammates can turn a collection of players into a community. Progress shows up in better habits—and in the comfort of knowing you have people beside you.

A July 2026 practice brought Coach LaShaun Green and a group of young players together inside the La Puente Community Center. It is one snapshot of a program finding its rhythm—players showing up, sharing the court, and becoming part of the pack.
